The Schellter Bar and Grill is found on Hwy C, just a couple of minutes down the road from the Natural Bridge State Park. Our address says we’re in North Freedom, but we’re in Leland, an unincorporated little town nestled in the beautiful rolling hills. We are 20 to 30 minutes between Sauk City, Spring Green, Reedsburg and Baraboo. All roads lead to Leland. It may seem like we’re out in the middle of nowhere, but we are easy to find.
White Mound County Park provides overnight camping, horseback riding, fishing and swimming. It is located approximately 8 miles away.
We have a large hitching post for those who enjoy a nice horseback ride into town.
In the winter time, we can be found on the Snowmobile trail, sponsored by the Honey Creek Snowmobile Club and the Plain Hillcrest Riders. The trails are groomed often and are the best around.
The “Honey Creek Rod and Gun clubhouse is adjacent to the Schellter Bar and offers a nice outdoor shelter/facility for anyone who wants to host a larger group event. The beautiful Leland Millpond has many types of fish which provides a great day of fishing with the family. Across the street is the trap shooting range where there are leagues during the summer, as well as merchandise shoots for anyone who would like to trap shoot for fun. Members can rent the clubhouse for your family reunions, graduation parties, or even a small outdoor wedding. They also teach Youth Gun Safety Classes. Give us a call for more information. Also, available is a 100 yard shooting range for members only. To become a member, contact us at the Schellter Bar and Grill or go to their facebook group page Honey Creek Rod and Gun Club.
